The Vidalia Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are investigating a shooting that occurred in the city on Tuesday. 

According to police, officers from the Vidalia Police Department responded to Memorial Health Meadows Hospital around 1:56 Tuesday afternoon in reference to a patient with a gunshot wound. Officers arrived and found Savahna Rashona Chamblee, age 18 of Soperton, was the victim. Chamblee was transported by Air Evac to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah for further medical treatment.
