Mr. James C. “Jimmy” Braddock, Sr., age 84, of Lyons, died Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Oxley Park and Rehabilitation in Lyons after an extended illness. He was a native of Savannah, a 1956 graduate of Commercial High School and served in the Army National Guard. He worked for Hotpoint, Zenith and Frigidaire as a salesman for more than forty years. He was a member of the Cobra Club and was Methodist by faith. Jimmy enjoyed auctions, golf, sports, and early in his life, he coached youth league softball.
His family includes his wife of sixty-two years, Judy Blackwell Braddock of Lyons; two children, Whitney Braddock and wife Lindsey of Statesboro, and James “Bubba” Braddock of Lyons; four grandchildren, Hannah, Gray, Jamie and Clementine; one brother, Ronnie Braddock and wife Barbara of Peachtree City; one uncle, Norman Blackwell of Clyo; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in Savannah at a later date.
