obit Mosley

Mr. Lamar Mosley, age 76, of the Blue Ridge Community, died Monday, October 9, 2023, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia after a sudden illness.  He was a 1965 graduate of Lyons High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam, serving one tour of duty.  Mr. Mosley worked with Georgia Power, Hercules, was a meat cutter, and truck driver before retiring after twenty years from Georgia State Prison in Reidsville as a correctional officer.  He was Baptist by faith.  He coached baseball and football at the Lyons Recreation Department.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, riding his tractor, Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, NASCAR, and especially watching his grandchildren in their sports activities.  He was an avid fan and supporter of Toombs County High School sports.  Preceding him in death was his parents, Henry Lee Mosley and Ruby Lee McCoy Mosley; and a brother, Bobby Mosley.

His family includes his wife of forty-six years, Linda Mosley of Blue Ridge; five children, Keith Mosley and wife Juana of Santa Claus, Brian Mosley of Blue Ridge, Jamey Gates and wife Allison of Cedar Crossing; Stacy Lee Mosley of Lyons, and Lagena Whitaker and husband Jamie of Vidalia; one brother, David Mosley of Lyons; eight grandchildren, Emilee Whitaker, Austin Mosley, Lily Mosley, Allie Mosley, Jamison Gates, Ava Mosley, Kipp Mosley, and Payton Mosley; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday afternoon, October 13th, from 1:00 until just prior to the funeral service at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Toombs County Athletic Boosters, PO Box 1446, Lyons, GA 30436.
