Obit Oxford

Tommy “Pops” Oxford, age 76 of East Dublin passed away on Wednesday morning, April 19, 2023 at the home of his son.

Born in Johnson County, he was the fourth of eleven children born to the late Luther Oxford and Annie Mae Andrews Oxford.  Mr. Oxford was a lifelong resident of Johnson and Laurens County.  He had worked as a Residential and Commercial Carpenter, Electrician and Plumber until retiring in approximately 2013.

He enjoyed time spent with his family and was a fan of drag racing. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his former wife, Linda Horton Oxford, two daughters, Kimberly Oxford, Cori Oxford, siblings, Donny Oxford, Lamar Oxford, JoAnn Oxford, Andy Oxford, and a grandson, Dakota Oxford.

Mr. Oxford leaves behind his sons, Timmy Oxford (Carmen), East Dublin, Marty Oxford (Mary), East Dublin, Cameron Carrier, Dublin, two daughters, Sandy Creamer (Matthew), Brooklyn Oxford, East Dublin, siblings, Kay Rountree, Judy Woodard Dianne Woodard, Robert Oxford, Wayne Oxford, Faye Everly, grandchildren, Carrie Oxford Kelly Mullis, Ricky Mullis, Caitlin Hill, Ethan Oxford, Ashton Oxford, Gia Tapley, Tristin Tapley, Zaine Creamer, Kyleigh Oxford, Keaton Oxford, great grandchildren, Bella Tyson, Kelly Mullis Jr., Jeremy Mullis and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 pm on Saturday, April 22, 2023 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Conway Jones officiating.

Mr. Oxford will be laid to rest in the Brewton Cemetery, in the Brewton Lovett Community.

His family will receive friends on Saturday, at the funeral home, from 1:30 pm until the hour of service or family and friends may call at the home of his son, Marty Oxford.
