Mrs. Marlene Galbreath Willhite, age 68, of Glenwood, died Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin after a brief illness. She was a native of Montgomery County and grew up in the Sharpespur Community. She was a 1973 graduate of Montgomery County High School, where she had perfect attendance for twelve years. She was a homemaker, lived in Wheeler County most of her life and was a member of Snow Hill Community Church near Glenwood. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, especially roses, and spending time with her grandchildren. Preceding her death were her parents, George Washington “Coot” Galbreath and Low Rita Maddox Galbreath; one brother, Gary Galbreath; one sister, Dorothy Galbreath; and a nephew, John Galbreath.
Her family includes her husband of forty-two years, Jimmy Willhite; one daughter, Naomi Willhite Pratt and husband Paul; three grandchildren, Robert Pratt, Courtney Pratt, and Devon Pratt, all of Glenwood; three brothers, John Edward “Buddy” Galbreath of Sharpespur, Michael L. Galbreath and wife Brenda of Vidalia, and Randy P. Galbreath and wife Cristy of Sharpespur; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
The funeral service will be Saturday, April 1st, at 11:00 a.m. at Snow Hill Community Church with Pastor Donny Hughes and Pastor Ronny Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Willhite Hill Family Cemetery in Wheeler County.
