Mr. Raymond D. Hartley, (USAR) age 78, of Glenwood, died Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Treutlen County Health and Rehab after an extended illness. He was a Mount Vernon native and a graduate of Montgomery County High School Class of 1962. He entered into the U.S Army, serving two tours in Vietnam and retired after twenty years of service. After retiring, he was a truck driver and a diesel mechanic. After returning to the United States, he lived in Kentucky and Florida, before moving to Stuckey in 1982. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and tinkering. He is preceded in death by his wife, Silvia R. Hartley; parents, Omar and Macie Bracewll; brother, Beaver Bracewell and sister, Joyce Hall.
His family includes his sons, Jerry Hartley and Doug Hartley both of Stuckey; two grandchildren, Joey Hartley and wife Emily of Glenwood, and Rebecca Hartley Faulk and husband Blake of Cedar Grove Community; four great-grandchildren, Paisley, McKenzie, Adley, and Easton and sister, Charlene Newsome and husband Robert of Stuckey. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
The funeral service will Tuesday morning, October 4th, at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor BL Horne officiating. Burial will follow in Stuckey Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
