Mr. Marvin Watson, age 79, of Mt. Vernon, died Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Piedmont Healthcare in Macon after a brief illness.  He was a native of Montgomery County, growing up in the Kibbee Community, and lived most of his life in Mt. Vernon.  He was a 1961 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School.  He worked with Union Camp, Lee Thompson Logging for several years and retired after thirty-four years as a ranger with the Georgia Forestry Commission in Montgomery County.  He was a former member of Aural Masonic Lodge #239 in Mt. Vernon.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Tom Watson and Lucille Braddy Watson; and two brothers, Harold Watson and “Bubba” Watson.

His family includes his wife of forty-nine years, Betty Henry Watson; one son, Stacy Watson, both of Mt. Vernon; two aunts; and numerous cousins, who affectionately called him “Uncle”.

The funeral service will be Wednesday afternoon, September 21st, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Clarence Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow at Braddy Cemetery in Kibbee.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
