Mrs. Lennie Morris Vaughn, age 91, of Vidalia, died Monday, August 15, 2022, at her daughter’s home after an extended illness. She was a native of Soperton and a 1950 graduate of Soperton High School. She moved to Oak Park in 1956 and had lived in Vidalia since 1960. She was activities director at the Bethany Home for fourteen years, worked at Hazlehurst Manufacturing for four years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Vidalia Primitive Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Lonnie C. Vaughn; son, Phillip Vaughn; parents, James “Rabbit” Morris and Emma Meeks Morris; two brothers, Tunny Morris and Jerone Morris; and two sisters, Pernette Morris Powell and Frances Morris Findley.
Her family includes three children, Freida Vaughn Blaxton and husband Tony of Bonaire, Kendell B. Vaughn of Dothan, Alabama, and Annetha Vaughn Greene and husband Terry of Collins; one daughter-in-law, Angie Vaughn of Laurens County; five grandchildren, Beau Blaxton, Elijah Blaxton, Cameron Vaughn and wife Paige, Kristin Vaughn and Tucker Vaughn; and one great-grandson, Bryson Vaughn.
A graveside funeral service will be Thursday, August 18th, at 10:00 a.m. at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Elder Mike Gray officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
