Vincent R. Drummer Funeral Home announces the death Mother Willie Leola Wilson age 95 of Lyons, GA Willie Leola Wilson was born on October 9, 1926, in Toombs County, Georgia, to the parentage of the late Gus and Luberta Wilson.

Mother Wilson accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Jordan Stream Missionary Baptist Church in Lyons, Georgia. Our mother was married to the late Willie Wilson, Sr. Mother Wilson was employed with the Lyons public school system for over 55 years, and she retired in 1980. Mother then went back as a substitute from 1980-2001.

Mother Wilson has been known as a mother of the community, and she served as a pillar to First African Baptist Church, from 1935 until mother departed this life on July 22, 2022.

Mother was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Luberta Wilson, and her son, Willie James Wilson.

Mother leaves to treasure her memories: five daughters, Berta Ward of Waycross, Georgia, Doris Wilson and Louann Wilson, both of Leesburg, Florida, and Gail Bowman (Bennie) of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Clyde Marie Joyce of Alexander, Virginia; three sons, Lamont Wilson of Sumterville, Florida, Willie Wilson, Jr. (Phyllis), of Lyons, Georgia, and Cecil Wilson of Ocala

Public Visitation will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 4 PM until 6 PM at Vincent R. Drummer Funeral Home in Lyons GA.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM from the sanctuary of First African Baptist Missionary Church in Lyons, GA. Rev. Ralph Goethe, Pastor will deliver the eulogy.  Interment will follow in St Mary Baptist Church Cemetery in Ailey, GA.
