The destruction at the Fire Department on Airmwell Road in Vidalia Sunday night has been confirmed to have been caused by a tornado.

According to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, the tornado briefly swept through that area with winds maximum of 75 miles per hour, and touched down for about a minute. The tornado was about 100 yards in width and traveled less than half an hour while on the ground.
