Ann “Annie” Ruth Sizemore McDonald, 87, died Monday, October 25, 2021 at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia after a brief illness. She was a native of Northfork, West Virginia, and had lived in Ft. Pierce, Florida before moving to Toombs County. She enjoyed shopping, loved the outdoors, and working in her yard. Annie was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses of Vidalia. She was preceded in death by her husband George Mitchem.
She is survived by one son, Michael George Mitchem and wife Patsy of Lyons; one daughter Cecilia Ann “Pedi” Bates and husband Bill of Simpsonville, South Carolina; brothers, Tommy and Harold of Herndon, West Virginia; sisters Margie Ellen and husband Clifton of Vera Beach, Florida, Thelma of Ft. Pierce, and Hazel of Daisy, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Julie, Melissa, Zachry, Allyson, Buck, and Scooby; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Friday, at 3:00 p.m. October 29, 2021, in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Brother Terry Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
