Mrs. Charlotte Sanders English, age 79, of Vidalia, died Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Glenwood Health Care after a brief illness. She was born in Lyons, grew up in Tattnall County, and graduated in 1958 from Toombs Central School. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Teachers College in Statesboro, and retired after more than thirty from J.D. Dickerson Elementary where she taught first grade. She lived in Brunswick for thirteen years and moved to Vidalia in 1977. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vidalia. She enjoyed line dancing, flea markets, shopping, crossword puzzles, and she enjoyed people. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy W. English; and parents, John Sanders and Catherine Todd Sanders.
Her family includes two sons, Mark English and wife Cindy of Jacksonville, Florida, and David English and wife Kay of Vidalia; one sister, Beverly Gibbs; one brother, John Sanders, both of Reidsville; eight grandchildren, Christopher Closser, C.J. English, Tristan English, Maggie English, Evie English, Samuel English, Analeigh English, and Sophie English; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside funeral service will be Wednesday, October 27th, at 2:00 p.m. in Pinecrest Cemetery with Reverend Daniel Gilliam officiating.
