10 12 21 Cheer 1

Parsons-Reid Gymnasium was the site of the 21st Annual Sweet Onion Cheer Classic Presented by The Paul Thigpen Automotive Group, on Saturday, with 17 Middle Schools and 16 High Schools attending the event.

Local Teams competing were Vidalia, Toombs County, and RTCA High Schools, and the J.R. Trippe and Toombs County Middle Schools.

According to Vidalia Cheer Coach Ann Michele Toole, the event was well attended, who said, “it’s always nice to bring a crowd to the Sweet Onion City. We have a beautiful facility and I love to showcase it any time we can.”

The Lady Indians finished 3rd in AA, five points behind State Champion Dodge County and one point behind Bleckley County. “We continue to make strides in the right direction and continue to work hard as we get ready for Region,” said Toole.
