A Florida-based professional BBQ team and one that has been attending The Real Squeal year-after-year walked away with the top prize Saturday afternoon as competition for the annual event was held in Partin Park.

Kenny Nadew says he’s been coming to The Real Squeal since 2008, and it’s the community that keeps him coming back.

“This is just a great community,” he said. “I’ve come to know the people who put on the competition as well as some of the local store owners, and it’s just a great place to see friends both old and new.”

Uncle Kenny’s BBQ also took first place in the professional division in chicken, fifth place in ribs, eighth place in pork., and 1st place in brisket. They also took second place in the sauce competition.

Nadew said he plans on returning in 2022 for the next The Real Squeal competition.
