Seven racers from the Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby travelled to Akron, Ohio last week for a chance to win $36,000 in college scholarships at the 83rd All-American Soap Box Derby World Championships.
Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby Champions Alyssa Head (Masters Division), Alexis Head (Super Stock Division), Noah Gordy (Stock Division) as well as rally racers Aidyn Driggers, Cash Driggers, Quinn Driggers and Kevin Head.
Congratulations to Aidyn Driggers who took second place in Rally Super Stock Division. Aidyn lost in the finals by .003 seconds to the winner Karlye Murphy from New York State.
Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby Director Matt Driggers, “We had Noah Gordy and Alexis Head advance to the second round and we were proud to see that. Aidyn Driggers made it to the final race on Saturday and came in second place, not quite the result that we wanted to see but still proud of second place.”
Southeast Georgia Soap Box will start the new season with rally races August 28-29th at Partin Park in Lyons.
