Within the last week, three area individuals have been reported missing with two still not found and a third ending in devastation.

On Thursday of last week, the Lyons Police Department issued a Mattie’s Call Alert for David Napoleon Adaway who was last seen on Tuesday, June 1 around 5:00 a.m. He is described as a white male, 78 years of age, 5’6” and weighing approximately 190 pounds. He has brown eyes and gray hair and was last seen wearing black pants, black shoes, and a white shirt.

Lyons’s chief of Police Wesley Walker said Friday that the department was enlisting the use of drones to search the area of his last known whereabouts, but the search didn’t turn up any new leads.

Candler County Sheriff John Miles' office  released a report over the weekend that Tanina Ellis of Metter was also seen last on Tuesday June 1. She is described as a 41-year-old African American female, 5’5” and 160 pounds. She was last seen wearing grey pants and Mickey Mouse shirt. She has black hair with red on the side. In this missing person case, contact local law enforcement of the Candler County Sheriff’s Office at 685-2568.

And a search for a Sandersville woman has ended in tragedy. Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran held a press conference Friday evening stating that they believe they have located the body of Tina Prince in rural Washington County.  Prince had been missing for a week. Sources report she was eating at a restaurant when she received a telephone call and left. Sheriff Cochran said she met with 31-year-old Aaron Matthew Adams at a nearby Walmart parking lot. Her body has been sent to the GBI Crime Lab.

Adams was arrested in connection to the case. He is charged with felony concealing a death and two felony counts of false statements with more charges pending.
