(L-R) Front): Justice Gabbard (brother), Joe Gabbard (father), Jace Gabbard, Ronnin Gabbard (mother), Ella June Gabbard (sister).(Back): Head Coach Mandy Godbee, Coach Erica Palmer, Coach Lee Humphrey, and Coach Nic McBride.

May 26-- This week Jace Gabbard of Vidalia High School signed a letter of intent for a scholarship to run for the Brewton-Parker College Barons Track & Field team. Gabbard was a distance runner for the Indians and ran Cross Country and was also a part of the record setting 4x800m relay team.

"I am excited to join the BPC track team. I like how it is a Christian school and I am looking forward to continuing my running career and see what is next for me. I want to thank my family for always supporting me. I also want to thank all of my coaches, Coach Godbee Coach Palmer, Coach Humphrey, Coach Dalley and Mr. Sharpe for helping me. I want to study Education and maybe come back and be a coach one day." Gabbard said.

Coach Mandy Godbee said, "Jace has been so much fun to have on the team. He has done everything that we have asked him to do and has a great attitude. He has worked very hard and it is great to see him be a part of the team that set the school record in the 4x800m. BPC is getting a good one with Jace Gabbard."

"We have been thankful for the school district and the coaches here at VHS. It takes a lot of work to be a runner, they are out here every day all year long running miles. We are all very proud of him." Joe Gabbard said.
