It’s always nice when workers are shown appreciation for the jobs they do, and such was the case Tuesday night at the Lyons City Council meeting.
As a surprise, and as part of 52nd Annual Professional Municipal Clerks Week, The Council recognized Lyons City Clerk Lynn Rowland for service
“She does so much for the City,” Mayor Willis Nesmith said. “We appreciate the multiple jobs she does that fall under her umbrella. I’d hate to think of what I’d do if I didn’t have her; she’s just that good!”
Rowland said she loves her job and the with whom she works.
“I’ve been here for many years, and I’ve always had the backing of this Council and those in the past,” Rowland said. “I love my job. It’s one that I can honestly say I look forward to getting up and coming to work every day and not everyone can say that about the job they have. I am blessed to be the City Clerk of Lyons and to work with the people that I do.”
Professional Municipal Clerks Week is recognized this year throughout the United States and Canada from May 2 – May 8.
