The Eagles lost the toss and the Knights of Peoples offense took the field. The Knights took the ball all the way to the end zone for a quick 6 points. The Eagles answered right back with a good drive all the way down to the 3-yard line where the Eagles fumbled and gave it back to the Knights. The Eagles did not only lose the ball, senior QB was hurt on the play. With things not coming together for the Eagles, it seemed like this game was not going to go their way. However, the VHA Eagles Defense showed up and forced a stop. Junior Mason Beacham entered the game as the QB. The Eagles quickly drove the ball back down the field for a touchdown and a 2-point conversion, putting the Eagles up 8 to 6.

The Eagles went to half up 14 to 6. Head Coach Seth Sitzman, “I reminded the team how important this game was for the school and the community of Vidalia. With our senior leader going down was a punch in the gut. However, I challenged the team to prove themselves during the second half. I am proud of how we responded to the adversity that was brought upon us.”

The Eagles showed back up after half time and played hard nose football. The Eagles won the game 28-12. This game locked the Eagles in the playoffs for the first time in school history. The Eagles will look forward to playing for the Region Championship in 2 weeks vs. David Emanuel Academy.

The Eagles move to 5-1 on the season and will pick things back up this week with a non-region game against Coastal in Hinesville.(Courtesy of Vidalia Heritage Academy)
