The Treutlen Vikings traveled to McRae to face the Telfair County Trojans in a Region 4A matchup on Thursday night and ended up falling to the Trojans 28 – 7. The Viking offense sputtered for most of the night while the Trojan ground game pounded out four rushing touchdowns.
Telfair running backs scored on runs of 8, 12, 24, and 31 yards to take a 28 – 0 lead in the fourth quarter. The Vikings got on the board with 5:43 left in the contest when Viking sophomore running back Qamar Jordan ran it in from two yards out. Jordan put the Vikings in great field position with a 54 yard scamper to the Trojan 15 yard line just two plays earlier. Chris Mincey split the uprights for the PAT making the final score 28 – 7 in favor of the home Trojans.
The Vikings are off next Friday night and will return to action on Friday, October 23rd at home to face their Region 4A rivals the Wheeler County Bulldogs with kickoff set at 7:30.
