The Toombs County Lady Bulldogs defeated the East Laurens Lady Falcons on the road Monday 11-3. The Lady Bulldogs were led on the mound by Krista Cantwell throwing a complete game. Leading offensive players were Riley Lumley 1-2 with 2 BB, Zia Griffin 2-2 with 2 BB, and Lauren Hattaway 1-2 with 2 BB. Toombs took an early lead 3-0 in the first as the Lady Falcons came stomping on the door hitting a homer and taking the game to a 3-3 tie in the top of 3rd The Lady Bulldogs came storming back in the bottom of the third putting up 4 taking the game to 7-3 and putting it away with four runs in the 6th inning.
The win secures a spot in the state playoffs for Toombs County who are currently the 3rd seed behind the region champions the Vidalia Lady Indians and the Jeff Davis Lady Yellow Jackets.
The Lady Bulldogs host rivals the Vidalia Lady Indians Tuesday at 5:30.
