June Truett Conner, age 73, of Mt. Vernon, died Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia after an extended illness.  She was a native of Montgomery County, and was a 1967 graduate of Montgomery County High School.  She attended Brewton-Parker College, was a graduate of the University of Georgia, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, and later earning a Specialist degree from Georgia Southern University.  She began her teaching career in Dublin, later to Treutlen County, Mt. Vernon, Coffee County, and retired after twenty-five years of combined teaching from Liberty County.  Also, she taught in community colleges, and was a member of Georgia Retired Teachers Associations.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hinesville.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren, was an avid reader, and enjoyed watching UGA football and crime shows.  Preceding her death were her parents, Charles Fredrick Truett and Annie Doris Smith Truett.

Her family includes two daughters, Jennifer Conner Blount and husband Bobby of Vidalia, and Holli Conner Newton and husband Adam of Monroe; one son, Chris J. Conner and wife Jessica of Mt. Vernon; eight grandchildren, Keaton, Grady and wife Sarah, Kailen, Bryant, Kameron, Kadence, Colby, Will, and Ally; two brothers, Charles Truett and wife Loretta of Uvalda, and Jimmy Truett and wife Vickie of East Dublin; one sister, Joy Truett Tootle of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10:00  until just prior to the service.

The funeral service will be Monday, October 17th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Patrick officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens.
