The Vidalia Police Department is searching for a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred Friday evening at approximately 8:40 pm at the Family Dollar located at 1101 East First Street.  The male suspect jumped the counter, brandished a firearm and demanded money according to the clerk and customers.  The suspect fled on foot after collecting the money.  The suspect is described as a tall, slender, African American male, wearing all black clothing and a black face covering.
