The City of Vidalia and United Infrastructure Group (UIG) announce a temporary traffic interruption on GA Highway 280 at the Bridge 2 LT & RT (Span 2) location as part of ongoing construction related to the US-1 Bypass project. The closure is necessary to allow crews to safely continue overhang installation and concrete placement on edge beams and diaphragms on Bridge 2 LT & RT.This operation is considered critical to keeping the bridge construction on schedule and ensuring safety by keeping the traveling pubic outside of active work zones and away from heavy equipment.

The temporary closure is scheduled for: May 28 and May 29, 2025 From 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. each night Work is being conducted overnight to minimize disruption to traffic and daily travel. A traffic control layout has been prepared in accordance with Section 150 of the contract and Part 6 of the MUTCD. All necessary signage and detours will be clearly marked. If there are any changes to this schedule, an updated notice will be issued via official correspondence.
