It’s been just over a month since a Glennville woman lost her life in Candler County, and despite extensive efforts of the Candler County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies, her death remains unsolved. But this week, a little more money has been added as an incentive for someone to come forward and say something.

The reward for information leading to the arrest of the individual responsible for the May 24th hit-and-run death of Tiffany Carter just outside the city limits of Metter has been increased to $5,000. Carter was struck in the early morning hours between 3:30 – 4:30 as she walked along the shoulder of the road of Highway 46 West, between Canoochee Road and Hiawatha Road in Candler County. Markings on the road from the State Patrol’s Accident Reconstruction Team as they conducted the initial investigation are still very visible on the road and hundreds of vehicles a day cross over those painted reminders.

The person who hit her did not stop or call of help and the Candler County Sheriff's Office is referring to  the person or persons responsible for Carter’s death as having a complete disregard for human life, and implore anyone with information, or who may have seen something, observes someone acting differently or suspiciously, and who may have noticed a vehicle with fresh or unexplained damage to please come forward.

Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling the tipline at 912-685-8649 or calling or texting Investigator Holloway directly at 912-314-2526. The Candler County Sheriff’s Office will follow leads and use the information to help seek justice for the victim’s family.

Carter was 43 years of age, and left behind her parents, three children, two brothers, and four grandchildren.
