McLendon Enter. award

(L to R): Christi Thomaston, Coffee County, State Work-Based Learning Board President; Derek McLendon, McLendon Enterprises, Inc., Vice President; Laura Boswell, GA Department of Education Work-Based Learning Program Specialist; and Brent Holcombe, McLendon Enterprises, Inc., Safety and Health Supervisor

McLendon Enterprises has been named as the 2025 GA Work-Based Learning Program Business Partner of the Year after partnering with the Toombs County School System to create an opportunity to students.

“We are proud to celebrate our community partner,” said Assistant School Superintendent Tabatha Nobles. “Great things happen when schools and industry come together to shape the future workforce.”

In 2021, Toombs County Schools and McLendon Enterprises launched Georgia’s first-ever Heavy Equipment Pathway—a groundbreaking partnership that continues to grow.

“Special thanks to Mrs. Peggy Snow, TCHS Work-Based Learning Coordinator, for her leadership in connecting students with meaningful career opportunities. We also recognize Mr. Tom Brodnax, TCHS Heavy Equipment Instructor, for his commitment to student success in the HEP program. We’re proud to continue chasing excellence together,” Nobles concluded.
