May 4—The 33rd Annual Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby was held Saturday at Derby Hill at Partin Park in Lyons. A total of 32 cars competed in the Stock, Super Stock, and the Masters Divisions for an opportunity to race in the Soap Box Derby World Championships this July in Akron, Ohio. The winners received a check for $1500 to help with the expenses to Akron, Ohio.
