Martin

A Vidalia woman has been arrested and charged with cruelty to children in the 2nd degree after her four-year-old child ingested and overdosed on THC gummies.

Vidalia police say that on April 11, at approximately 3:15, officers responded to Memorial Health Meadows Hospital regarding a child who had overdosed. The four-year-old was transported to Memorial Health Children’s Hospital in Savannah and is expected to make a full recovery.

Police arrested Tiffany Martin, age 41, and in addition to the charge of cruelty to children, she was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Interim Chief Garry Colson said he extends his sincere appreciation to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Eastman Office for their swift response and assistance and noted that the Vidalia Police Department remains committed to protecting the safety and well-being of all children in the community.
