An arrest has been made in the March 10 homicide of Gary Ryals, age 19, of Hazlehurst.

The Jeff Davis Sheriff’s Office reports that 21-year-old Ronald Dykes has been charged with voluntary manslaughter.

According to the GBI, the Hazlehurst Police Department requested their assistance after a  shooting at the Circle K on Jarman Street. When officers arrived, they found Ryals with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
