The Vidalia Police Department is proud to announce the addition of Rob Shore, former Chief of Police in Metter, GA, as a Captain of Administration in the Vidalia Police Department.
Shore brings decades of law enforcement experience, including serving on the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Task Force, and will play a key role in the department’s continued efforts to enhance public safety and community policing in Vidalia. Shore’s leadership, investigative expertise, and deep understanding of multi-agency collaboration will further strengthen the Vidalia Police Department’s ability to serve and protect the community.
Vidalia City Manager Josh Beck expressed his enthusiasm about Shore’s appointment, stating: "We are thrilled to welcome Rob Shore to the Vidalia Police Department. His extensive background, particularly his experience working with cities, counties, and various agencies, will be a tremendous asset to our city. Mayor Roper, City Council, and I are very excited about this addition to the department. "
Shore himself is eager to take on this new role, sharing: "I’m very excited to be joining the Vidalia Police Department. There are a lot of great things happening in this city and within the department, and I’m excited to be a part of it."
With Shore’s extensive knowledge in law enforcement strategy, investigations, leadership, and multi-agency partnerships, his arrival marks a significant step forward for the Vidalia Police Department’s ongoing commitment to safety, professionalism, and community engagement.
