A case of mistaken identity had Candler County deputies quickly responding to a report of an active shooting situation at Metter High School Wednesday morning.
When a Candler County student saw the Tiger mascot of the Apalachee High School Tiger during a news report of an active shooter at the school in Winder, Georgia, the Candler County student mistakenly thought he Tiger it to be the Metter High School Tiger and did took the appropriate action of contacting local school administration. Airing on the side of caution, the Metter schools were put on a soft lockdown while law enforcement determined there was no danger at the local schools.
