The Board of Directors of Robert Toombs Christian Academy issued the following release Wednesday:
The Robert Toombs Christian Academy Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Mr. Scott Tuck has been named as the new Head of School.
An experienced educator, Mr. Tuck has held many positions within the field of education providing him multiple perspectives as he takes on this new leadership role at RTCA. In addition to his prior involvement at RTCA, his commitment to education, faith, and family will be valuable for Robert Toombs Christian Academy.
Mr. Tuck has been actively involved at RTCA for the past 21 years. He rejoined the Robert Toombs staff four years ago to teach high school science courses and assist with baseball and softball. Additionally, he was a member of the RTCA Board of Directors for 10 years and is a parent of two children, Sarah (class of 2019) and Andrew (class of 2023), who both attended Robert Toombs Christian Academy from K-3 through 12th grade. He was married to the late Lori Nobles Tuck (class of 1992).
Mr. Tuck attended Vidalia High School and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Auburn University, a Master of Education in Heath & P.E. from Georgia Southern University, and an Educational Specialist in Brain-Based Teaching and Teacher Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in 2013. He has taught for 27 years and has coached for much of that time.
Mr. Tuck will assume the Head of School role and responsibilities immediately. We thank Mr. Mike Lothridge for his service at RTCA as Head of School. Mr. Lothridge will remain a Crusader as the Driver’s Education teacher and Golf Coach. Mr. Lothridge will complete his Head of School responsibilities in an advisory role to Mr. Tuck.
We are excited to have Mr. Tuck join us as the Head of School for RTCA and we are looking forward to an incredible 2024-2025 school year!
