Dawson McLendon and Case Conner
Career Development Events (CDEs) help students develop the abilities to think critically, communicate clearly, and perform effectively in a competitive job market. There are over 25 CDEs, covering job skills in everything from communications to mechanics. Toombs County Senior Dawson McLendon and Freshman Case Conner attended the Area 4 EMC Electrification Career Development Event (CDE) hosted by Area Teacher, Mr. Walt Parks at the Toombs County Ag Center on Wednesday, November 14, 2023.
The students went through the Electrification CDE from skills to exam. Their skill and exam were scored and tested to ensure proper wiring. They also gained knowledge in:Reading Ladder & Placement Diagrams, Conductor Counts, Calculations with Watts, Volt & Amps, and Working through Bill of Materials List.
This event helps prepare the students for the EMC CDE Contest in January. A special thank you to EMC for sponsoring snacks, lunch and drinks for all the students.
