The Toombs County Courthouse will be closed this Friday, November 17, to facilitate the move into the new courthouse.

Offices closed Friday include the Tax Commissioner, Magistrate Court Offices, Assessor’s Office, State Court Offices, Probate Court Office, and Commissioner’s Office. The Clerk of Court’s Office will be open to accept filings on behalf of the Superior and other Courts. Scheduled Superior Court Hearings will be held in the old courthouse.

The Toombs County Courthouse will resume regular business hours on Monday, November 20, 2023, in the new courthouse with all offices open.

In addition, because of the moving process, the November 21 regular scheduled meeting of the Toombs County Board of Commissioners has been cancelled. The meeting will be combined with the December 19, 2023, regularly scheduled meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the new courthouse.
