The City of Vidalia and the City of Lyons have contested municipal elections in November, and you are invited to hear what local candidates have to say before casting your ballot.
The Toombs County Republican Party is holding a Municipal Election Candidate Forum on Tuesday, October 10, with the forum to begin at 6:30. The forum will be held live in the southeastern Technical College Auditorium located at 3001 E. 1st Street. All candidates are invited to participate, and the program is free and open to the public.
Contested Vidalia elections are for the seats of Vidalia City Council At-Large, Vidalia City Council Ward 4, Vidalia City Board of Education At-Large, Vidalia City Board of Education Ward 1, and Vidalia City Board of Education Ward 3.
Contested Lyons election is for the seat of Lyons City Council Ward 5.
Election day is Tuesday, November 7. Early voting begins Monday, October 16. Early voting for Vidalia will be held at the Vidalia Police Department, 302 E. 1st Street. Early voting for Lyons will be at the Toombs County Board of Elections and Registration Office, 125 W. Lincoln Avenue in Lyons.
