The details are limited, but the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Eastman Office and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a recent shooting.

Montgomery County Sheriff Doug Maybin said that over the weekend there was an altercation on Jake McCaw Road and a firearm was introduced during the dispute. A scuffle ensued and the gun went off with the projectile striking one of the individuals. His condition was not known as of Tuesday morning.

Sheriff Maybin said the case remains open and he expects more details to be released  soon as the GBI and his office continue the investigation.
