Elaine S. Kersey, age 64 passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Agape Hospice.  She was born December 16, 1958 in Savannah to Francis and Gladys Sherwood and had lived in Toombs County most of her life.  She was a bookkeeper for many years but more importantly she enjoyed crafts, baking and spending time with her grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Marie Lockley and Fran McDonald.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Terry Kersey of Lyons; her children, Lee (Ashley) Kersey of Cedar Crossing and Robbie Kersey of Tifton; siblings, Linda Richards of Sims, NC, LaVerne Hodges of Springfield, GA, Douglas (Debra) Harn of Mobile, AL, Sarah (Steve) Mosley of Vidalia; brother in laws, Maynard Lockley of Lyons and John McDonald of Vidalia; special friend, Helen Sanders of Uvalda; grandchildren, Morgan, Riley, Tate, Jace and Asher; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Cedar Crossing Baptist Church with Rev. Reece Mincey officiating.

Low Country Cremation and Burial is serving the Kersey family.
