A Dublin woman is facing two felonies after she was accused by teens at a Glenwood convenience store of threatening to kill one of them.

According to reports Jayme McGowan was arrested earlier this month after she allegedly made the threats. She was taken into custody on May 10 and posted a $24,000 bond and released just over an hour after her arrest.

McGowan is reportedly heard on a surveillance camera at the Circle K store in Glenwood asking someone inside the store if they knew the juveniles in the parking lot  and stating, I’m going to shoot those…” and use an expletive.

One of the juveniles also told a Savannah television station that McGowan pointed a gun at him, threatened him, and called him the n-word.

McGowan’s attorney, Mitch Warnock of Dublin, declares there’s more to the story, however, and defends his client and summarizes that McGowan felt intimidated and did nothing wrong. Warnock said she will tell her story to the court and only to the court if, and when it is necessary.

Wheeler County Sheriff Randy Rigdon said no one called 9-1-1 at the time of the alleged incident, and he only heard about it the following day when he visited the store and was handed a brown paper bag by a store employee with information regarding the case written on the bag. The Sheriff’s office contacted the mother of one of the juveniles who was alleged involved, and after reviewing the surveillance tape, asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for help in locating the woman on the video who was identified as Jayme McGown.  She is charged with aggravated assault and making terroristic threats.

Sheriff Rigdon also refutes the rumor that one of his deputies who filed the incident report, Chief Deputy Richie Floyd, resigned after making the report. Sheriff Rigdon says the Chief Deputy has not resigned and is still employed by the Wheeler County Sheriff’s Office.
