According to Tony Hall of the city’s public works department, an advisory issued Thursday cautioning a small segment of Vidalians to boil their water pertains ONLY to nine addresses in the McNatt Street area, and NOT to the entire water customer base.
Hall said a 12-inch water main broke in that area, and has been repaired, but as a precautionary measure those nine residences and industries – all of which have been personally contacted – need to continue boiling water that is consumed by people or pets until water samples documents here is no contamination.
All other water customers within the City of Vidalia do NOT need to boil their water at this time.
