Carrie Ann Tippett

Carianne Tippett passed away on March 12th, at the wonderful age of 90. After a full life of love and laughter, she passed in the early hours from natural causes.

Born on July 4th, 1932, she grew up in Thomasville, GA with her parents and two sisters, Barbara and Doris Gothard. After graduating high school, she went on to major in home economics at Valdosta State College. After graduation, she found a position as a home economist with Georgia Power.
During her work, she met Paul Tippett. They married on February 2nd, 1957. Paul and Carianne went on to have 4 beautiful children. Having a great capacity for love, she also mothered 5 other nieces and nephews that needed her care at various times. She saw these children as her greatest accomplishment in this life; she felt that mothering was her calling from God. This was also evident in her long career as a Vidalia City School System teacher where she finished her career as a math teacher at Vidalia High School.
Carianne was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzles. Playing cards was a passion she inherited from her parents, and she always looked forward to her bridge club meetings and visiting with her friends there.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cary and Annie Laura Gothard, her sister Barbara Jean Wood, and her husband, Paul Winston Tippett.

Carianne is survived by her sister, Doris Mountjoy, and her sons, Lew (Pam), Al (Aurelia), Tim (Denise), Win, and Fred (Erin), 18 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16, from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home in Vidalia.
The funeral will be Friday, March 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Vidalia. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
