David Odom

Mr. David Odom, age 61, of Altamonte Springs, Florida, died Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Advent Health Apopka in Apopka, Florida after an extended illness.  He was a native of Norfolk, Virginia and lived there until moving to Altamonte Springs, Florida in 1967.  He was a 1980 graduate of Brantley High School in Forest City, Florida.  David entered the United States Army in 1983 and served 4 years.  He served in the 82nd Airborne, serving in Nicaragua and Panama, and also participated in the second wave of the invasion of Grenada.  He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi.  He enjoyed fishing and surfing.  He is preceded in death by his father, John Morris Odom; and brother, John Alan Odom.

His family includes his mother, Pauline Allen Odom; one sister, Linda Odom White and husband Charles, all of Metter; two nephews, Bobby Julian of Talmo and Scott Julian of Loganville; two aunts, Betty Allen Morris of Uvalda and Barbara Allen Hart and husband Cub of Alston; and one uncle, Jerry Allen of Hope Mills, North Carolina.

The graveside funeral service will be Thursday, February 9th, at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Crest Cemetery.
