Kelly Cecil Braddy

On Friday, January 27, 2023, Kelly Cecil Braddy, loving husband, father, and grandpa, went on to his eternal home with our Lord and Savior.

Kelly was born on September 17, 1942, to Cecil and Emma Braddy. He grew up and lived his entire life in Montgomery County, Georgia.  Kelly married Linda Joan Williams on March 27, 1965. They raised two children, Tracy and Michelle.

Kelly, along with his brother Pete, started farming hogs and corn in 1967 while also working factory jobs. Their double first cousin, Gary, joined them in growing tobacco. Shortly thereafter Braddy Farms was established in 1969. Kelly spent his lifetime farming with his family and the boys who worked alongside him. In 2020, Kelly established his own operation, Bar B Farms, and began building a cattle herd and focusing more on hay production. He was proud of the operation and enjoyed running the business with his family.

He loved to spend his days riding in his truck to survey the land and check on all of his family, crops, and cows.  “Work” was his favorite hobby.  Kelly, known as Grandpa to his granddaughters, loved his family and friends dearly.  He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil, mother, Emma, and brother, John Quincy “Pete” Braddy.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Joan W. Braddy; children, Tracy and wife Sheila Braddy, and Michelle and husband Scott Rhodes; grandchildren, Lauren and husband Michael Stanley, and Brittany Braddy; double first cousin Gary and wife Barbara Braddy; sister-in-law Brenda Braddy, all of Mount Vernon; brother-in-laws Billy and wife Nolie Williams and Earl and wife Shirley Williams of Uvalda, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with John Q. Braddy, Jr. and Reverend John Elmore officiating. The committal service will follow at Adams Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Georgia.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until just prior to the service.

Memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Vernon First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 482 Mt. Vernon, Georgia 30445.

Kelly’s family is gathering at his son Tracy’s house, located at 345 U.S. Hwy 221 North, Mt. Vernon, Georgia, 30445. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time.
