Matthew Criswell

Matthew Aaron Criswell, age 35, of Jesup, died Monday, January 23, 2023.  He was a native of Vidalia and lived most of his life there.  He graduated from Vidalia High School in 2006.  Matt worked as an electrician beginning his career with Criswell Electric.  For the last ten years, he has worked with Sack Company of Statesboro.  Matt loved the Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldogs, throwing darts (he won several tournaments), fishing, arrow head hunting, and spending time with his family.  But most of all, Matt loved his kids, Kensleigh and Jackson.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Effie Criswell and his maternal grandparents, Billy and Chen Mosley and step-grandmother, Karen Marsh 

Matthew is survived by his wife, Rocheta; children, Kensleigh and Jackson Criswell; two stepsons, Jonah and Liam Hawkins all of Jesup; father, Mike Criswell (Monica) of Bellaire, Michigan; his mother, Mary Anne Mosley (Migna) of South Thompson Community; stepmother, Becky Loveall (Donnie) of Metter; four brothers, Ryan Criswell (Macy) and Zachary Loveall (Ashby) of Stillmore; Michael Loveall and Hunter Loveall of Kansas; four sisters, Ashley Villegas (Arturo) of Petross Community; Alicia Kingrey (Chad) of Stillmore; Andrea Quinones (Luis) and Shelby Thompson (Westley) all from Metter; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. 

The funeral service will be Friday, January 27 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Chad Kingrey officiating.   Burial will follow in the Cedar Crossing Baptist Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 1:00 until time of service.
