Mrs. Shirley Nell Robitzsch Wilson, age 80, beloved wife of Grayson Wilson of Adrian passed away, as the sun began to set, early Friday evening, September 23, 2022 at their home.
Born in Allenhurst, Georgia, she was one of four children born to the late Ovid Henderson Robitzsch and Juanita Nell Rushing. She grew up in Swainsboro and attended Swainsboro High School. She married Johnson County native, William Grayson Wilson on January 5, 1966 and they began a journey together that lasted for fifty six years. Mrs. Wilson had worked as a Waitress at Keys Café in Swainsboro but was primarily a wife, mother and grandmother.
She enjoyed church, spending time with family and friends, planting flowers, dancing, watching westerns and going to yard sales.
She was a member of Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene, Scott, GA.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepfather, J. C. Rushing and in laws, Libby Robitzsch, Jerry McGraw and Charles Nobles.
Mrs. Wilson leaves behind her husband of fifty six years, Grayson Wilson, their children, Pam Kirkland and her husband John, Dennis Wilson, Shannon Nelson and her husband Tres, all of Scott, GA, her siblings, Henderson Robitzsch, Lyons, GA, Dorothy McGraw, Sandersville, GA, Joyce Nobles, Louisville, KY, her two grandsons, James Grayson Nelson, William Clark Nelson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p. m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Thurman Foskey officiating.
Mrs. Wilson will be laid to rest in the Pullens Cemetery, between Adrian and Wrightsville, in Johnson County.
Her family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 p. m. until the hour of service.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Tres Nelson, James Nelson, Clark Nelson, Elmer Wilson, Andy Wilson and James Moore.
