Altamaha Bank has made an overall donation of $20,000 to The Dream Center and Forge Recovery of Vidalia, The Hope House of Uvalda, and Outback Serenity Center of Hazlehurst in recognition of National Recovery Month. Altamaha Bank and Trust President and CEO, Brent Sammons, states, "So many of our family, friends, coworkers and others in our community have been affected by addiction. Thankfully, we have several faith-based recovery centers laboring to provide healing and restoration to the many who are struggling with addiction. We at Altamaha Bank want to support those organizations to allow them to expand their outreaches in our community."

Less than 10% of those fighting addiction actually recover. It is a hard journey on those fighting the battle and those who are walking along side them. The people who manage and operate the local recovery organizations put their heart and soul into their jobs every minute, every hour, and every day. Each September, National Recovery Month works to promote and support new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, the emergence of a strong and proud recovery community, and the dedication of service providers and community members across the nation who make recovery in all its forms possible.
