The Vidalia Indians Softball Team opened their Region 3AA season Thursday night with a 10-0 against Pierce Co.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the 3rd inning when Sophomore Aidyn Driggers singled to center field. Senior Tori Wright followed that with her 3rd HR of the year, giving the Indians a 2-0 lead. The next batter, Emma Vinson would walk, then Madison Starr singled. Then, after Shayla Bennett reached on an error to load the bases, Senior Emily Thompson doubled to make the score 4-0. Tymber Harris then grounded out, but an error by the 1st baseman would score 2 more runs, making it 6-0. The Indians would add 4 more in the 4th inning on a Madison Starr single and a Tymber Harris single.
In the circle, Harris was dominate. She went 5 innings, giving up zero hits, and striking out 11.
Offensively, the Indians were led by Tori Wright 2-2, HR, 2 RBI; Madison Starr 2-3, 2 RBI; Emily Thompson 2-2, 2RBI; and Aidyn Driggers 2-3.
