Mrs. Meredith Morris Partin, age 90, of Johnson Corner, died Monday, August 15, 2022, at her home after an extended illness. She was a native of Toombs County and lived in Johnson Corner most of her life. She was a homemaker and loved fishing, reading, spending time with her grandchildren and fellowshipping with her church family. She was a charter member of Edmond Chapel Church of God where she served as church clerk and was Sunday school secretary for several years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Partin; parents, Cleveland and Minnie Morris; one daughter, Cynthia Partin McAlum; and three siblings, Laverne Gay, Theron Morris and Myrle Sowell.
Her family includes three children, Ricky Partin of Uvalda, Greg Partin and Tabitha Partin Hutto, both of Johnson Corner; one brother, Vernon Morris and wife Joyce of Port Wentworth; eight grandchildren, Richard Partin of Barcelona, Spain, Carrie Partin Ward, Danielle Partin O’Connor, both of Uvalda, Heather McAlum of Glenwood, Brad Partin of Alma, Wendy Partin Hester and husband Toby of Johnson Corner, David Hutto and wife Shana of Lyons and Jeffery Hutto and wife Jennifer of Statesboro; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
The funeral service will be Friday morning, August 19th, at 11:00 at Edmond Chapel Church of God with Pastor Mark Griffis and Pastor Ronnie Saxon officiating. Burial will follow at Edmond Chapel Church of God Cemetery with Pastor Mike Poppell officiating.
The family will receive friends at Edmond Chapel Church of God on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
