Mr. William Bragg Thompson, Jr., age 83, of Vidalia, died Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Vidalia, 1957 graduate of Vidalia High School, and earned an Associate degree from Brewton-Parker College. He worked with Thompson Farm Supply, a family owned business, and was manager of the milling company. He served in the Army National Guard and attended Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his horses. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Bragg Thompson, Sr. and Sarah Freeman Thompson; and one brother, Hugh Clifton Thompson.
His family includes his wife of fifty-eight years, Shirley Carroll Thompson; two daughters, Lori Thompson Harn and husband William, and Jennifer Thompson McComas and husband Steven, all of Vidalia; one brother, Roderick Thompson and wife Ann of the Center Community; three grandchildren, Will Harn, Anna Maria McComas, and Sarah Ann Harn Lorenz and husband Josh; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be Sunday, August 14th, at 5:00 p.m. at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Pastor Gerald Henry officiating.
