At Vidalia High School Indian student athlete Jahlyn Madison signed a letter of intent for a scholarship to Brewton-Parker College in Mt. Vernon and run track for the Barons. 

 Jahlyn was a member of the Indians Track & Field team in 2020 & 2022. On the 2022 Region 2AA Championship team he finished second in the 110 hurdles, third in the 300 hurdles and first on the 4x100 and 4x200 Relay team.  

At the AA State Championship Meet in which the Indians placed second as a team he was a member of the State Champions in the 4x200 Relay, a School Record and State Record in the first-time event.  

“I am thankful for all the support from my coaches and family for this opportunity. I like the fact that I am going to a Christian college, and I cannot wait to be a part of the team.” Madison said.  

“As a family we are so proud of Jahlyn and how he has earned this chance to continue his education and track career at Brewton-Parker. It is close to home, and we are looking forward to seeing him compete at the next level.” De ‘Adria Salem said. 

“It is going to be hard to see Jahlyn go but I am super proud of him. He has worked hard, and his best is yet to come. The Barons are lucky to have him, and I cannot wait to see what he can do at BPC.” VHS Head Track and Field Coach Mandy Godbee said.
