The Vidalia Recreation Department Swim Team had a great showing at the GRPA B State Swim Meet in Moutrie on July 15 and 16.  Twenty-five swimmers competed in the meet with numerous swimmers making it to the finals and bringing home awards.  This year, the team also had several gold medals.  The 13-14 year old mixed relay team were state champions, bringing home 1^st place in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 2:06.09 and in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:53.44.  This team consisted of Maggie Bowers, Autumn Moore, Spencer Mosley, and Lake Wright.

In the 7-8 boys division, Carson McLendon earned 5^th place in the 25 yard backstroke with a time of 22.29, 6^th place in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 41.33, and 6^th place in the 25 yard freestyle with a time of 18.58.  Easton Moore earned 2^nd place in the 100 yard individual medley with a time of 1:45.21, 5^th place in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 41.31 and 6^th place in the 25 yard butterfly with a time of 21.53.  With a time of 28.80, Knox Smith earned 6^th place in the 25 yard breaststroke.  Mason Zorn earned 7^th place in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 41.43, 8^th place in the 25 yard freestyle with a time of 19.46, and 8^th place in the 25 yard butterfly with a time of 27.12.

In the 9-10 age division, Mason Bowman earned 8^th place for the boys in the 50 free yard freestyle with a time of 38.31 and 8^th in the 25 yard butterfly with a time of 23.98.  The girls’ 100 yard freestyle relay team of Isabella Allred, Aeriona Birkheimer, Isabella Morgan, and Emerson Smith earned 6^th place.

In the 13-14 girls division, Autumn Moore finished 3^rd in the 50 yard breaststroke with a time of 35.26, 3^rd in the 100 yard individual medley with a time of 1:10.01, and 4^th in the 50 yard butterfly with a time of 30.77.  In the 13-14 boys division, Spencer Mosley finished 2^nd in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 55.09 and 2^nd in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 29.14.  With a time of 26.90, Anthony Underwood finished 7^th in the 50 yard freestyle.  Lake Wright finished 4^th in the 50 yard breaststroke with a time of 33.90 and 8^th in the 50 yard butterfly with a time of 28.50.

In the 15-18 girls division, Conley Brown finished 5^th in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 26.97 and 6^th in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 32.41.  In the 15-18 boys division, Reece Brown finished 2^nd in the 50 yard butterfly with a time of 25.23, 3^rd in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 23.17 and 8^th in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 54.72.

Serving his first year as head coach, the team had a great year under the leadership of Cole Register.  He was assisted by Conley Brown, Nolan Busch, and Autumn Harris.
